Sean Payton explains his exchange with Russell Wilson on the sideline after the game- ending bobble.

On Sunday, running 24- 21 with 41 seconds left in the game against the New York spurts, the Denver Broncos had the ball on their own 41- yard line with one downtime and an occasion to win or at least tie the game in their grasp.

The game, and all liability their shot at making the playoffs, literally slipped out of their grasp.

A alternate after the ball was snapped, spurts ’ linebacker Quincy Williams exploded past the Broncos ’ right side of the obnoxious line untouched as right attack Mike McGlinchey had his hands full with spurts ’ protective lineman Will McDonald IV. Wilson noticed the pressure and took off, sprinting to the left sideline to escape the pressure.

still, Wilson was n’t suitable to overrun Williams as he knocked the ball free and the Broncos watched the spurts pick it up, take it to the house and all but end the game.

As Wilson walked to the Broncos ’ sideline and took off his helmet, Sean Payton was caught by the CBS broadcast putatively yelling, pointing and questioning what happed. On Monday morning, “ animated ” was the word used by a journalist when asking Payton about the exchange with Wilson.

“ I do n’t suppose I was that amped , ” Payton stated. “ It was n’t as big of an exchange or big deal I suppose perhaps as some may have allowed

 . ”

With Wilson and Payton’s relationship and future questioned for months, this clip of Payton putatively angry at his quarterback went viral. On NFL on ESPN’s YouTube runner, the videotape was named “ Sean Payton lays into Russell Wilson after sack- bobble. ”

After playing down the significance of the clip, Payton explained what was said in the heat of the moment.

“ I just wanted to make sure he knew the linebacker was a free- crawler, ” the head trainer participated.

That was the final cherry on top of a frustrating and delicate alternate half for the Broncos, specifically in the end game.

“ The particular play you ’re agitating at the end of the game was a five- man protection and so we ’re hot off the weak side linebacker, ” Payton added.

That was Wilson’s fourth sack on the game, the platoon’s third development all of which happed to be fumbles — and it solidified the Broncos ’ fourth loss of the season.

guarding Wilson had also been a problem throughout the game. On Monday, the head trainer refocused out a many reasons why.

“ We were in some longer yardage situations, ” Payton said. “ I allowed

we could have been a little stronger at attack. The fund got collapsed a many times. He made some effects be, and yet with the zone content we were seeing, those immediate throws or progressions were slower because of the content. So drawing that over and understanding where we're in the fund, I suppose is going to be important. We ’re going to periodically play a platoon that decides to be a little bit more content driven. We saw it at Chicago actually, and we ’re going to have to neutralize that, A, with the handling game, but also with our capability to attack that content. ”

Wilson’s bobble limited off a dismal half for the Broncos as they saw their halftime lead dematerialize and the offense go ice cold wave. In the alternate half, Denver only had 125 yards of offense, including 27 yards on the final drive of the game when the spurts were playing help defense.

“ clearly, we ’ve had better or faster thresholds offensively in the first half and we have n’t in the alternate half. That has to ameliorate, ” Payton said about Denver’s alternate- half offense. “ history, it was really the tale of two halves. inclusively, we did a lot of effects well in the first half. We did n’t score like we had hoped, also the alternate half comes out, we struggle offensively, defensively we give up the big run, and all of a unforeseen, we ’re in one of these close games. Putting four diggings together is obviously one of the effects I made a note of this morning. ”

Putting four diggings together on both sides of the ball will be absolutely pivotal as the Broncos head to Kansas City to play the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football.
